I recently photographed British countertenor Hugh Cutting for the Autumn 2026 issue of Opera Now. The portraits appear on the magazine’s cover and accompany an extended feature by Jonathan Whiting.
In the interview, Hugh discusses challenging operatic stereotypes, redefining the countertenor voice and his belief that opera must feel urgent, human and impossible to ignore.
