Photographing at Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.

Last week I was commissioned to photograph a few items from the collection of Petrie Museum. The images consequently are going to be used in an exhibition catalogue Freud & Egypt Between Oedipus and the Sphinx.

The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology in London is part of University College London Museums and Collections. The museum contains over 80,000 objects and ranks among some of the world's leading collections of Egyptian and Sudanese material.

Despite its vast collection, the museum display is rather small and its gently lit cabinets create an intimate atmosphere. Still, the number of objects and their historical and artistic value can put anyone under a spell or intimidate.

It's a uniquely inspiring place and a hidden gem, so you should certainly put in on a map of your 'must visit' places!
