Photographing Qatar’s Minister of State at the Global Partnerships Conference in London

In May 2026, I was commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar to photograph H.E. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation, during the Global Partnerships Conference in London.

Held at Woolwich Works in the historic Royal Arsenal, the two-day conference brought together ministers, senior officials and leaders from international development, humanitarian and philanthropic organisations to explore new approaches to global cooperation.

H.E. Maryam Al Misnad participated as a keynote speaker in the opening panel discussion, addressing the structural challenges facing international cooperation and Qatar’s role in humanitarian diplomacy and international development.

My assignment combined formal portraiture with unobtrusive documentary photography, capturing the Minister’s participation in the conference, her panel appearance and conversations taking place throughout the day.

It was a privilege to document an event centred on international dialogue, cooperation and the evolving future of global development.
