The Art of Portraiture

Ingmar Bergman once said “the human face is the most important subject of the cinema.”

In my own photographic practice, I find nothing more substantial, exhilarating and rewarding than working with another human being. Face is the ultimate arena of my subject’s personality and to connect to, and evoke the ‘true self’ of my sitters has been an ever present objective and the driving force in my work.

Even though we will plan the shoot and styling in advance, choosing the right clothes and best locations, there is always space for spontaneity and improvisation to allow room for magic to capture your best self.
