If being in front of the camera doesn’t come naturally to you

Not comfortable in front of the camera?

...in front of the camera

Most of the people I photograph don’t feel naturally comfortable in front of the camera. In fact, many come to me because they’ve had an experience of being photographed that felt awkward, overly posed, or simply not like them. This isn’t something to fix; it’s where the work begins.

My approach is quiet, observational, and responsive. There is no pressure to perform, and no expectation to be good in front of the camera. There is no expectation to be confident; only to be present.

Before the session, I’m very happy to guide you through preparation. We can discuss clothing, tone, and what would feel most appropriate for how you want to be seen. I also share a short set of notes to help you prepare in a simple and practical way.

Sessions are designed to unfold gradually. We take time. We adjust. We pay attention to small shifts, posture, expression, and energy. I also pay close attention to detail throughout, how clothes sit, how hair falls, how light interacts with the face – making subtle adjustments where needed.

What emerges is not a constructed version of you, but something more natural and grounded. The result is a set of images that feel calm, confident and recognisable, without forcing anything that isn’t there.

Many of these portraits are created for professional use, company websites, personal profiles, or public-facing roles, but the process remains the same.
